can someone educate me on the steps to expect after a PERM/labor certification is approved? what's after that? filing of I-140 or something else? and what's the timeline? when can we expect the greencard? and if you have just the 7th year h1b extension after the PERM is pending, then the extension period runs out with the PERM still pending (maybe a 2nd filing if the first one was withdrawn or denied, or the first one is taking extraordinarily long), are you required to leave the US again, or try to recapture time early or mid in the year before the extension ends?

I-140, which takes about 3 months (15 calendar days if you pay premium processing). Then it's I-485 which is taking a lot, like 6 months. After that you get the green card.

At the time of filing the I-485 you can file for Employment Authorization and Advance Parole so you can work and leave-reenter the country while your case is pending.

About the PERM still pending with the 7th year extension running out, I would consult an immigration attorney to assess your options.

thank you, collective. my lawyer has been hemming and hawing at how to reply to those questions. i knew my queries were straightforward enough, but im suspecting they don't want me to know so they can do whatever they want with my application. i've been sending them the same questions 3 times, and so far, you have replied to this in just one posting.
