I did apply for green card in 1998, but the company that apply for me close down. Can I use the same aplication with a different company now?

Your visa was sponsored by a company. When the company went away, the visa opportunity and thus AOS went away. You are free to re-apply for another visa and when the time comes for status adjustment (or rather, your new company is), but as we said, it's a new process with new fees etc. I imagine the forms would have changed some too, in 20+ years.

You can apply again; but with a different application. A new company would have to be the one to petition for you by using a new application.
