I coming to London this summer, and I wold love if you could give me tips about good cheap Vintage/Second Hand/Charity - shops, I'd prefer the shops to be on high street, or near the city. The clothes/accesories I'd like to buy is designers. In other words, cheap designers clothes in London.
-Thank You!

With traditional retail units lying empty, it is often better for the owner to let a charity keep it occupied rent free, than allow it to lie empty and become derelict. But a lot of them do sell very poor quality old lady stuff. We have a particularly good charity bookshop locally, much to the annoyance of independent secondhand bookshops, who have to pay for stock, rent, and local rates.

I did read about one branch of Oxfam in Kensington where they send all the designer stuff, and it seems to get good reviews:

Go to Beyond Retro in East and West London. Probably the West London one will be easier to locate if your on holiday in Central London. It's located just behind Oxford Street in between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road (Which are the red Central Line) tube stops. There are also a few vintage retro shops in Covent Garden. Google this.

As above poster said charity shops are full of dire rejects and old lady clothes. Any treasure would have been sold off to vintage shops before they even make it on to the rails. Vintage and Retro stores are the way to go.

PM me if you need directions. And keep BR on the down low. I would like some stuff to be left for me! Lol.

AND the best place on earth - The mecca of fabrics is San Francisco (Haight and Ashbury). I'd travel 4000 miles just to go through their scarves again...
