because I didn't give you the answer you were looking for?
If people are stopping there then they can charge whatever they want. Whining about it on a forum does nothing. Don't like it? Start your own gas station with 30 cent-per-gallon cheaper gas.

Holy Cow, you are a miserable person. I never said they couldn't charge what they want...in fact, I said it WASN'T price gouging.
I wasn't whining about it either, I was just pointing out that I thought it was odd that a gas station charged 30-40 cents more per gallon than any other station in the area, and was curious as to if anyone knew why they do this.
I've always noticed Mobile charging a premium for their gas. Some a-holes must be paying it otherwise, they would not be around. Probably the same people who, even when presented with a convenient choice of other gas stations, would buy gas from BP and help keep them in the black. But, that is a b*tch fest for another thread.
here in Huntington town, we always pay a premium - much higher than Smithtown township. I always wondered if it's because there are no self-service gas stations allowed in Huntington.
The Hess station on Jericho Tpke in Commack (Huntington township) is "down" to $2.99 today, while both Hess stations in Kings Park have been at $2.79 for two weeks. I once wrote Assemblyman Raia about this but to my surprise never received a reply ....
Sunoco station at Elwood and Jericho has been at $3.29 for some time and does have customers ... yes I'll drive to Kings Park to save 50 cents a gallon - that's ten dollars less for a tank of gas !
