Is anyone familar with the plumbing of a levittown cape. I just moved in. My boiler is still under the stairs and I have no idea where the main water valve is. So right now if I need to shut off the water to the entire house I have no idea how.

Didn't you have an engineer inspect the house? All this info should be in the report.

They were sometimes put under the kitchen sink, along with the water meter. Do you know where your water meter is?

the water meter is actually located outside in front of the house, underground. I'm not sure how they ran the main lines into these houses. I would assume it runs directly into the house, right under the front door, under the stairs and comes up by the boiler. Would they run the main water line of the house up the driveway through the wetwall to the boiler?

I have a Levitt ranch with the boiler in the kitchen. Our main water shutoff is under the kitchen sink.

I have a Levitt cape which is now a colonial. Originally when my boiler was under the stairs the main valve was under there too behind the boiler. I had a whole in the wall in the kitchen and I could stick my hand in there to shut it off. Now that we moved the boiler to the garage my shut off valve is in the crawl space between the kitchen and the Bathroom and it is also outside in the whole that is next to the walkway in front of the house

Weird thing is i have nothing that looks like a main valve by the boiler. I have one mystery valve behind the fridge in the kitchen (where the stove would normally be by the door and the circuit breaker)
