If you could live in either school district, which would you choose and why.

They both have excellent reputations. At this point in your decision-making it is more of a personal preference based on visiting the community, possibly your commute, etc.

Both are very good districts, pretty much top tier, though I would probably give Jericho the upper hand.

Both are top tier. In trying to decide where you want to live, I'd go with personal preference.
Garden City is closer to the city than Jericho.
Jericho has "better neighbors". [Compare Syosset/Hicksville with Hempstead]

So Hempstead bordering garden city affects the QOL of GC residents?

I agree with this. As a former GC resident what drew me was the look of the village and the fact that it has a "downtown". A town like Jericho lacks a certain charm, IMHO. To others, the "dominance" of the school district would sway them. To each his own. No one can say which is "better" for a particular person.

Admittedly don't know that much about Garden City- but I've heard not too much because the Garden City police are very good at their jobs of keeping things safe in the village itself.
