This is what they claim. I've heard it before too many times. So when I ask them what about Brooklyn and Queens, if Long Island is not New York, what will happen with these boroughs? Where will they go? I dared these fools to point Brooklyn or Queens on the map, and they are forced to point at Long Island. What is your opinion on this?
Yeah not sure what to make of this post either, Kings, Queens, as well as Nassau and Suffolk make up Long Island. However Kings & Queens are part of the City of New York, while Nassau and Suffolk are not, however obviously are part of NYS.
The reason for this is because of the differences in areas (city vs. suburbs). People from Long Island and the city don't think Buffalo, and Syracuse should count too because how far away and how different it is to our local areas. It used to annoy me when people would go to the Hamptons (I used to work out there) and then say at the end of a weekend that they're driving back to NY (not NYC).
