I've been looking for a condo or co-op in middle island. School district is not important since my kids live ft with their mom, but a safe area is important for when they visit me.
One complex I like is the Hidden Meadows co-op complex in Mddle Island. Anyone know anything positive or negative about it?
Also heard mixed reviews about the artist lake condos..any more details?
my choice would be birchwood on spring lake if you want a safe neighborhood for your kids.
Middle Island can draw a seedy element, but its not terrible. the artist lake area has a good amount of transient rentals.
Before you sign on the boittom line
You need to find out what the other costs will be per month and
Parking, pets, visitors parking, over night stays etc.
Also plantings, and if you want to change a door or window. Some are real strick and limited.

Agreed
Id go for a small home in Lake Panamoka first.
A small house around 200 with low taxes could be cheaper than a condo at 150 with common charges.
thanks everyone for the ideas. my goal is to find something by the end of the summer so if anyone hears of anything I may be interested, feel free to pm me.
Crooks..I know of 3 condo's that sold within 2 months in my complex. Pointing out that they are a louzy investment is ridiculious. You cant judge the LI condo/coop infrastructure based on a post thats located in the Longwood school district & has houses within that district cheaper than those condo's. Anyways a condo has cheaper utilities, less upkeep & taxes than any equivalent house.
