These kids are to be commended for being outside and living their lives instead of plugged into a computer screen under the watchful eyes of their parents. Wish more kids did that.

Fifty years ago on Strongs Neck on summer evenings, we hung out on the streets . Wow. I can not believe I just wrote that, but it is true. It was fifty years ago.

In Nassau, everyone's arrogant and trying to run you down in their land rover or hummer.
In Suffolk , at least half the people on the road seem to be DWI'ing 24/7

Wtf is going on this summer? DMV needs to do a mass redo.

Agreed Peqs.

Young Shirley mom killed in hit-and-run

Suffolk could learn from Nassau in terms of sidewalks too.

Sad.

Summer time and the kids are moving about from here to there. We traversed quite a few miles and hung out in all sorts of places when we were younger. The kids you saw might have stopped on their way from Point A to Point B, were goofing around a bit, maybe a friend was working there. Chances are they weren't up to no good being out in the open like that. I've noticed a couple of different groups of young teens riding between the Burger King and Checkers on Portion -- that group is a little reckless crossing the road between the two.

When the time comes, I've got to figure out a way to make sure MY son is not hanging out "on the streets" in the summertime. Wonder where the parents of these kids think they are....
Did you feel left out and ignored by your peers when you were a teenager?
