My girlfriend works in East Setauket..some mornings about 20 minutes..sometimes 30..

coming home...you better hope there is no accident on 347, especially on a Friday in summer, can take an hour.

But there is a secret carpet ride...Crooks will tell us one day.

Kelly you know your location is incorrect right? Ridge is upisland to real East enders. (nothing against Ridge just bugs me when people call anything west of the canal "eastern long island")

it would cost me roughly an extra $150 a month in gas to commute from that area if I were to move there..plus i would need new tires/brakes faster. I suppose it would make sense to factor that into my home buying budget?

Can't lie RP to 3V is awful since TOB blew up 347.
Anywhere to 3V is awful at rush.

347 is like the Cross Bx now.

Fail

Hours a stretch though.

Yes, wear and tear on you car & gas money are two huge things to consider when figuring monthly costs of living.

Been driving to my job that is 30 miles away for the past 4 years and seeing how fast the mileage racks up is not pretty... Seeing over 11k miles on my brand new car I bought 5 and a half months ago is not making me a very happy camper.

One of the major reasons I am looking to move from out here. - to cut my commute down by at LEAST 10 miles. Especially with Gas prices nowadays.

There are plenty of nice areas that aren't so far away from everything yet still have an isolated feel, trust me.

I caught that to... I think becoming so desperate as to have to date someone living in "Suffdump" is something that continually erodes his self esteem - which leads to posts that are intended to "incite". Never any "insight" in any posts that I've read.

Maybe one day he'll be worthy of dating his own socio economic class instead of slumming to get some!

You can drive from RP to ES or SB without ever having to use 347, unless she works right on 347. Even then, there's ways of doing it minimalizing 347 exposure.

Didn't you see that same 11K over 5.5 months in your old car? I don't understand how this comes as any surprise.
