So, Torry Pines is the High school I attended as a teen in california.

It is probably just a general fear, probably one that comes from DH more than from me. Dh grew up in a totally different country- Ukraine- and there they did not have school buses- people took public transport and no way in hell was anyone letting their 6y/o on there without a parent if they wanted them to come home safely. He is just over protective and it rubs off significantly on me, and i guess i would rather be over protective than have something horrible happen. Children are not exactly replaceable objects.
