Yesterday took the LIRR into NYC, change at Huntington. Several young men of Hispanic descent boarded the train at Smithtown. All of them were wearing a fair amount of yellow with some black. Yellow Yankee cap with black NY worn askew, yellow button down or pullover type shirt with black trim on each of them, black shorts (one wore yellow b-ball shorts), yellow sneakers with black sole and laces.
Did they call each other up that morning like teenage girls to coordinate their outfits, are was something more nefarious at play?
Brookhavens the next Islip township. To think about it almost every town in Southern and Central Brookhaven has issues. Coram, N Bellport, Eagle Estates, Gordon Heights, Mastics, Shirley, etc. As well as on the northside in Port Jeff Station and some issues in Rocky Point on the northern side. Port Jeff Station is starting to make Huntington Station look kind of nice.

The only gang issues I knew of in Rocky Point were Pagans.
A good portion of it has already been corrected.
As for the 9 Spanish people hanging out by the laundromat, they work for the Pool Company and rent near Broadway.
As for PJS, nothing makes Huntington Station look "kind of nice", its one of the most dangerous towns on LI.
Terryville is still a nice place to live and keep in mind, the worst parts of PJS are actually in PJ Village.
Are we really this racist now?
LI is getting browner by the minute...its not all MS13 folks.

Scary.

And this is an ANGLO NATION. We are not a Hispanic Spanish speaking Latin American nation. We are Americans, we speak English, we have evolved from a collection of BRITISH colonies. Generations of immigrants have adapted to that reality ... why are the Hispanics so special that they should not have to as well?

Well...the Spanish were here before the British. Also there are many communities in New York that cater to certain nationalities and ethnicities. Native Americans are the only ones who can truly complain.

Yes, the Native Americans most certainly got the short end of the stick.
Guess what? The "Native Americans" are NOT native either. That's why they are properly called American Indians.
Florida did not become a US state until 1845. It was not was of the original 13 colonies.
BTW: Delaware was Swedish before the British came along. Texas was Mexican and then the Republic of Texas for 10 years before 1845. Alaska was originally a Russian colony until 1867. Hawaii was the Kingdom of Hawaii until the American sugarcane plantation owners and missionaries overthrew the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893 and Sanford B Dole made the islands a US territory in 1898 and eventually Hawaii became the 50th in 1959.
The US Virgin Islands were a Danish colony before becoming a US territory in 1917. Guam and Puerto Rico were Spanish colonies until 1898. American Samoa was German until 1899. The Northern Mariana Islands were a German colony until 1918 (the Caroline Islands) then Japanese until 1944 and a US territory since then.
The Brits may not have been the first but their legacy has been the biggest influence on the modern United States.
It's a non-issue. All the gang bangers I know speak perfect English.
The "they should learn the language" tripe is just a dumb politcal football. Based on sheer numbers, the latin communities have assimilated remarkably faster than almost all others. We don't notice in NY because we are more accustomed to Eastern Euro and Asian immigrants (many of whom barely even attempt to assimilate and just develop their own areas...someone can live their whole life in Brighton Beach or Chinatown speaking Russian and Chinese respectively).
Cowardly politicians looking for votes and scapegoats attack the language issue. Everyone else all over the world is learning English, except Americans who can barely fashion a sentence or understand we live ON and island, not IN one or their, there and they're all have independent uses.
spanish and hispanics are not even tangentially related. and the vikings were here before any of them
