Just recently purchased a house on Long Island and have relocated here from Australia and only brought with us essentials. Soooo I'm looking for any recommendations on where I can purchase decent quality furniture to furnish 3 children's bedrooms. They are 2, 4 and 6 yrs old. Ideally I would like the furniture to last until early teen years.

Any recommendations ? Anywhere on Long Island would be fine as we are currently living in Suffolk but moving to Nassau.

I am not sure where the store is located, but my parents bought me furniture at Behr's when I was young, and the furniture is still going strong after 30 years, so I'd guess it's a good choice.

Casco in Centereach has great kids furniture and they are very friendly. They aren't cheap, but not overly expensive either. We bought our son's bedroom set there and it has held up perfectly. They deliver and put the sets together too.

We have the set for my oldest from Behrs and it has held up beautifully. The other kids have their sets from Pottery Barn kids and it's the same quality and it cost less than Behrs.

Have purchased from both and Casco blows Behrs away. Great quality and selection. Customer service much better than Behrs.

Not so sure if this contributes in any way or not, but please stay far away from Bob's furniture. The prices may seem tempting, but the quality is extremely lacking.

Please explain more since everything I have ever gotten from Behrs has been top notch quality and with the best customer service, delivery and installation on time and neat. Moved since then, had furniture disassembled and put back together, not one problem.

Materials were all hardwood and top finishes. Even with an active 10year old, not a scratch on it.

Casco seemed like a lot of MDF and pressboard to me.

I'd be interested in hearing more.

What more do you want? I think the quality, selection and service at Casco is better. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Glad you're happy with Behr's, I wasn't impressed.

I was referring to the fact that the last time I was in Casco I saw lots of MDF and particle board which is never the same as hardwood.

If you misunderstood me as to challenging your opinion, I didnt mean it that way. Just trying to understand what you bought at Casco that maybe has changed or I didnt see.
