I do not follow gasoline/fuel too often but with the trend of fuel slowly creeping down this summer do you think it is possible for gasoline to go below $3 a gallon this year on Long Island ???? It would be great for the economy !!!
I paid $3.09 a gallon yesterday which meant I had gotten 60 cents off a gallon using my stop and shop gas rewards. The most I have gotten off was 70 cents a gallon.
If we compare this week to the 2008 election year, this week was sitting at $4.04 and moving upwards. If we keep the same rate of decline as the last 30 days, then around the second week of August you will hover around the $3 mark.
Paid $2.94 a gl yesterday. Of course my $.90 off a gl from Stop & Shop helped.
How does that work exactly...I don't do the majority of my grocery shopping at Stop N Shop but I do go there once in a blue (I have my card) and always wondered about how the gas point system works.

Yeah, I am another enquiring mind who wants to know. How much would I have to spend to be eligible for the points?

For every Dollar you spend you earn 1 gas point. Look at your recipt after you shop there and it will tell you the gas points earned for that visit and for the total year.
