I'll be staying in Cold Spring Harbor in August. My friend says we can take waverunners across the sound to Connecticut and then back. I am a casual boater rider of watercraft, my friend is a wanna be XGamer

Has anyone done a trip similiar to this before? The plan is to refuel up in Connecticut! He has done it a few times and said that it can be "choppy"! Anyone have experience with this? Any input would be appreciated! We plan on launching out of the ramp in CSH off 25A and going to his brothers house who lives right oon the water in Shippian pt. CT!

If you haven't already done so, post this on the CT forum as well. I have never done this on a wave runner, don't know if I would want to unless it were a very calm day. My concerns would be running out of fuel, having a mechanical problem part way across, and being visible to other craft.

I used to do it all the time. You have plenty of fuel its not very far. It can be choppy, so make sure its a nice day with a calm wake.
