It didn't change the law or statute...it just created a precedent for another shnook who drives badly to beat the rap. I would love to know if that case included said plaintiff causing an accident by driving too slowly in the passing lane. Food for thought. Would the State sue over a ticket or was the guy really driving badly? Did someone get hurt? Maybe a cop? Who knows.

The law is 55. Eeryone should do it....but they won't....and the police will not make them. Now what?
Gpsma will make them!

(sorry I couldn't help it)

PS: No that case did not include any accidents.

There really is no argument. 55 is the law. Obey it and be safe.
Driving 55 doesnt imply safety. You've stated on other message threads that you drive 55 even when the limit is 65. You can die just as easily going 55 as any other speed.

Where 65 or higher is the limit, those limits use to be 55 back in the 1970's and 1980's. Assuming a road wasnt rebuilt (repaving doesnt count) the road didnt simply become less safer by changing the limit.

Even 10mph faster increases the chances of a more severe accident. Those are proven facts.

Really? So the other states with 65+ mph zones must be roadways of death.

Can you provide the evidence of this facts and not just your opinion thinking it would be safer?

How can you be sure you are not replying to a BOT ? lol.

On a serious note I read an article last year that going 10mph over posted limit was actually safer than 5mph below posted limit. So if you are doing 55mph in a 60mph zone you are in more danger than people driving at 70mph speeds, so you will slowly reach Hell faster.

Other states have better roads and more patient drivers that allow for speed limits of 65mph.

wasn't there a fact out there that MOST accidents happen at 45mph, on local roads?

Just admit you do it to save on gas and be done with it.
