Another thing they have in California are "Botts' Dots" which are reflectors in the center of the road's surface . These things light up at night from your headlights and help you navigate some of those curvy mountainous roads. They have them in most of the smaller cities also, even on straight roads.
I think the limits are fine for the most part, and I'm one that likes to drive a little faster. As long as we can do around 70 without being pulled over, I'm happy. Like someone else said, we do not need people doing 80 +on any parkway on LI.
What would be great is if they would put signs up telling slower traffic to keep right. I don't understand why people feel the need to go 55 -60 in the left lane and refuse to let others pass them. When I feel like driving slow, I have no problem moving over, why can't everyone else? All they are doing is helping to create road rage.
We have the orange reflectors in the road but no one pays attention to them.
Drove from Sonoma to Yosemite to downtown SF and had maybe three slow downs. These were during rush hour and peak hours. People use the left lane for passing like it was designed to be used, in CA. Wish folks on LI were aware of this.
