Troll post? Most likely you live in elmont. That's great for you, but I live in Stewart manor and I do pay much more in taxes for things that most likely you enjoy, like the pool, park, clean streets, and school. But seriously, I don't care for trying to feel important behind my phone or laptop.. I'm no troll and I'm not afraid to state my opinion about a town, that's why I am on a forum, and most people feel the same exact way about elmont, they just try to be politically correct about it.

You do understand that Elmont residents pay the same school taxes you do, right?

Uh no, I live nowhere near elmont. I don't even live in TOH. Try again.
I live in Stewart Manor, and I refuse to send my son to sewanhaka High School. I don't think it's right that we pay so much in taxes, and people from elmont get to enjoy a school that we pay for. Because of the elmont mentality, I can see this neighborhood going down the tubes.
I understand and agree with garden city having their own school district. I think the sense of community is good, and they take pride in their village. Stewart Manor is a good place to live and hasn't turned into a horrible environment but I defiantly do not like all of the kids that walk down tulip Ave. Once school lets out, it really brings down the value of the community. Averil park always smells like weed, and always has older kids or grown adult black men playing basketball. So I have to take my son to garden city just to play in a park, it's not right that I can't enjoy a park because of the element that Elmont brings to the cummunity.
you get what you paid for. In your case, your house likely cost much less than similar homes in better school districts.
