Has anyone else received theirs? I am not sure what amount I was supposed to receive as there were no explanations included.

Is this in lieu of the yearly Star program or in addition to it? Does anyone know ?

I haven't received mine yet, although I sent in the form the morning after I got it in the mail.

It's in addition to the STAR that is deducted automatically from your yearly tax bill.

Mine is the max ($600something) but that's less than 5% of my total out of pocket taxes, so I agree... it's measly!

Mine was $756. I pay about $3,100 property taxes, but that is with the Babylon Village taxes so there is no rebate there.

nancy, is that $3100 including Babylon Village tax a typo? Omigosh, I haven't heard of a net tax that low in a nice area like BV in years.

The lowest net property tax of anyone I know is my friend's elderly father who lives in St James. The true tax on his 2400 sf colonial on a half acre is a little over $13,000. He gets both the Enhanced STAR and Veterans exemption which brings his out of pocket yearly taxes down to just under $5000.

I know quite a few people in the area between BV and East Islip who live south of Union Blvd or south of 27A and every one of them is paying at least $8000/yr after Basic STAR... most in fact are paying well over $10,000; some considerably more... and only a few have larger homes (3000 sf and up).

It's based on both school district and income.

Must be a heck of a school district you're in; I thought the highest possible rebate in Suffolk county was in the $700 range.

I filed online in early Oct and received it on 1016 or 10/17.

This is in addition to the regular STAR program.

Money was gone before it even got here
