I wanted to look into some outdoor lighting.

I have a cape so my overhangs aren't that deep to put lighting in there (at least thats what i'm thinking)

so the other option is lighting from below (which i think looks better)

or i could just do some various flood lighting.

what i don't know is the normal cost range for some basic stuff and looks.

any recomendations and info?

thanks in advance

why not call an electrician for quotes - he'll have to run wires. You can even supply your own motion-activated flood lights which go for like $25ea. That's what we did when we renovated with a general contractor.

So any local penny saver electrician can do it? Or should I look for more or a specialist who can give me a good look?

Any electrician can do it. Things to keep in mind. Running outdoor landscape lighting requires a lot of manual labor because of all the digging involved to run the wires underground around the house. Also make sure they use the correct outdoor wires and pvc conduits.
