I live in Bellmore and I hear gunshots ALL the time. My father told me it was people hunting ducks... Is there any truth to that? The Freeport Revolver and Rifle Association is actually a really nice place. They have a VFW type hall where you can have parties at an affordable price. There are also sketchy people where I live who shoot off Fireworks every celebration... I mean why do we need fire works for New Years? And Christmas? And Thanksgiving? So it might be a combination of all of the above.

Why would you be suprised that duck hunting was popular in a waterfront community? Can you beleive people fish, crab and clam in the area also? What I don't beleive is why would anyone want to eat one of those ducks?
