Question about Property taxes

I grieve every year and lose. Then I continue to personally grieve every time I cut that tax check. I used one of those firms one year and got a reduction. $30. I owed them money for the appeals fees and whatnot which if I remember correctly doubled the value of the reduction.Total loss. Never again. I just keep a jar of vaseline next to my checkbook now.

No. Not if you do it for free on your own. They won't raise it.

Involve a firm and it can cost you as above but the town won't adjust your number upward as a result.
