Hi I am a 30 something young guy, I wanted to know if Sayville was a good choice as i may have found something to rent that suits.

I would like restaurants and a few bars basically some activity. Am a musician and Arty type person too. Huntington is too far out, Port Jeff the prices are steep but its not ruled off my list.. But whats Sayville really like?

Is it more of an older town?

Any advice welcome!

Sayville is geared more towards families than, say, Huntington, but it's otherwise not a bad choice for someone looking for a little bit of an artsy, Main Street feel.

If you're focused on eastern Suffolk, have you thought about Patchogue? I know it doesn't have the greatest rep, but Patchogue has a much more robust nightlife scene than Sayville, and since they built the subsidized live/work lofts for artists right behind Main St. a few years ago, a decent (by LI standards, anyway) arts scene too.

Hi yeah i have looked at patchogue.. in fact i have found a really nice ranch in brookhaven - quiet yes but its near the beach and only 6 miles from patchogue.

its pretty much getting a decent rental quick enough! but thanks for the heads up on sayville. It looks like i am gearing towards the more suited areas.. my area radius is anywhere from if you draw a straight line from north to south at stony brook and another at wading river - thats the area im looking at... but im gearing towards - PJ, Sayville and Patchogue areas for sure..

thanks for the advice!

I found this when I was reading in google about suffolk county, ny. There is witchcraft and the occult in sayville.

Sayville and Witchcraft

Sayville Influence on Harry Potter, and plagiarism lawsuit & School. J.K. Rowling

The Symbol of Sayville is the lightning bolt.

Tanja Grotter, N.K. Stouffer, Real Muggles, and Larry Potter

Hogwarts uses the same colors as Melissa Joan Hart's school.

Sayville was the FIRST in the world to use the lightening bolt with purple/gold.

Notice the symbol for HARRY POTTER is the same as the symbol of Sayville, the demonic lightning bolt. That is the symbol of the Sayville schools, where Melissa Joan Hart spent her childhood. Author J.K. Rowling was able to find a publisher in 1997 because Sabrina the Teenage Witch was the number one kids show in England at the time. Sabrina is much bigger in England than in America. Sabrina started in 1996, and the show's influence can be seen in the book, experts say. Many say the book publisher, Bloomsbury, saw how successful Sabrina was and took a chance. J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury had an intimate knowledge of Sabrina and Melissa. There are also demonic ceremonies, lots of ghost stories, urban legends, and a school that teaches kids witchcraft in Sayville.

Great advice for someone who is looking to move there. You are not even from LI or Sayville for that matter. Just because it's printed online or on paper does not mean it's all true. Please don't sway people from moving to a really beautiful town because your are scared to live there yourself. I have friends who live there and if I had the money I would move there too. I love the downtown area.

Please consult a mental health professional. Your fixation on this topic is so far from healthy it's a little scary. I am not sure where you live, but you can find a referral to services in your area by contacting NAMI (nami.org). I know you say you are fixated on this because you are worried about family members who live on LI, but if I were your family member I'd be seriously worried about you.
