Just call the court and ask them what the fine would be if you plead guilty. They have a schedule of fines. That's what I did when I got my last speeding ticket, and it helped me to decide whether to go to court to get it reduced, or to just pay it.
You were going 20-30 mph over the speed limit, so that would be 6 points on your license if you just plead guilty. You can get 3 or 4 removed by taking the driving class.
You better ask them if this is true because when I went out of my way to the DMV in fricken Queens to submit my fine payment and the paperwork for the course, they told me it doesn't apply if it's still under 11. From what I can tell, it's like a get-out-of-jail-free card. Can't use it until you're about to take it from the rear.

Really? That's interesting. I know lots of people who have taken the course and said they got points removed. I never took it myself because I tend to space my tickets out, and I've never had more than 2 tickets on my license at any given time (and those two were low point tickets).
Have to say, most of you guys have a chip on your shoulder. Are most of you saying you've never gone a hair over 80 when there was little traffic on the road when you were past exit 50 on Sunrise? I'm not denying I'm guilty but I know pleading guilty is usually the worst way to go. ALL I wanted to know is what I could expect with this incident.
If it makes everyone sleep at night, I would say I was very careful from the time I was pulled over to today about my speed. I was on the LIE today, which is 55 MPH, and stayed comfortably in the middle lane, staying at a comfortable distance between a car. I was going 65 but even then many cars were going a lot faster...I would say I was going slower than most.
So I learned my lesson and it humbled me a bit. All I wanted to know was what were my best options. In reality, I'm on the same page as a lot of you - I'm from Lindenhurst - capital of Long Island where people go 60 in a 30 mph neighborhood with their suave engines.
People always feel the need to jump all over somebody when he asks for advice on how to handle a ticket. Even if you are guilty, there's nothing wrong with wanting to know all the consequences before you decide how to handle it. Just blindly pleading guilty is usually the worst way to go on a fairly major ticket like this one.
