Hi,

I had gotten a permit to install a 6 FT fence on one side of my property. I then had the fence installed and called the town for an inspection. The town came to do the inspection on 8/31/2015.

Yesterday I called TOBAY to find out where my COC (certificate of completion) was. I was told something is holding it up and please fax in the copy that was given to you by the inspector.

After looking at the approved inspection copy from the Inspector - it has 3 things checked.

- Electrical inspection
- Plumbing inspection
- Updated Survey

Now why on earth will I need to provide those for having a fence installed. It will cost me an arm and leg to get these 3 things. I guess now i know why people do things without letting the town know.

Any suggestions are welcome.

This could mean that while the inspector was looking at the fence he noticed some potential plumbing and electrical irregularities on the outside of your home.

DO NOT LET HIM INSIDE YOUR HOME. It opens up a whole can of worms if you have something that's not up to code.

I would contact the town and ask why electrical/plumbing are checked when all you did was add in a fence. An updated survey I could understand, but the rest don't make sense.
