The only good thing about trump being elected is if he follows through on his promise to clean up some of that mess. It really is making LI a less desirable place to live. I've spent enough time there to know it's teaming with undesirables. The landlords don't care because they're still making money. I hope laws start cracking down.
Trump said he was going to clean up illegal apartments? I must have missed that.
His name is Walter Perez, meaning he was most likely born in the US since Walter is not a common name in Latin America.
Not arguing whether he was or wasn't here legally. Just want to point out that sometimes people Anglicize their names or are given a name at birth which doesn't seem to jive with their nationality. Mr. Perez might have been Gutierre Perez and decided to use the English translation, Walter.
Walter is a German name and there are a fair number of Germans who immigrated to South America over the last century. (My ex-fiance's father was one; his brother was born in Argentina, he was born in the US.) Worth noting is that after WWII, many Nazis fled to Argentina.
I bet you also don't think we should pay cashiers a livable wage because then we'll all have to pay more for dialysis living expenses...
What does this even mean and how is that related to what I said?
You said $93/mo. was a lot of money, yet you need a landscaper, who would indeed demand a "livable wage" if all the current transient workers are ousted by Trump which you support. You're all over the place, but that's not surprising.

That aside, very sad demise.
Of course it's in the realm of possibility that he's an immigrant, I'm just guessing that he's not.
But plenty of US citizens live in illegal apartments, even the cheapest 1 bedroom apartments in crappy places like Hempstead are kind of expensive now.

I'm not all over the place... I said $93 that didn't need to be spent was a lot of money. I still believe that. As I said before, I'll have to pay my landscaper *plus* the $93 that didn't need to be spent. It's not the landscaper fee I take issue with, it's the $93 that I didn't need to spend!!! I'd rather spend 200 necessary, worth it dollars than 93 every month that I didn't need to spend.
