I moved from LI to PA in 2013. I'm looking to move back sometime, hopefully, this summer. Is it possible to buy a house for 120k or less in a reputable neighborhood. I'm from Lindenhurst and would love to move back there but the house are too much and I don't want a mortgage.
No. Move somewhere else.
Five minutes of internet research would have made that quite clear to you.

No.
Co-op maybe... and even then, only lower-tier towns.
Actually, there are a few co-ops in Smithtown in that price range. Would you call that a lower-tier town?
I wouldn’t call a co-op a house.
