They are getting sneaky.
Saw them in a Honda Odyssy on Sunrise in Suffolk.
You'd never know it's a cop until it's too late.
Tonight they were in Tahoe or Yukon, looked like a typical meathead wagon.
All black with black tints. Again, wouldnt know until they throw the lights.
I don't understand how hulking top-heavy minivans or SUVs can't be outrun by someone looking to get away. It's pretty funny they use those vehicles.
Because they don't need to worry about being out-run. They work as a team. With all the cameras and license plate readers around you can run but you can't hide.
In my experience on LI anything 70MPH or below is safe. YMMV of course. In the HOV lane I would not worry about other drivers. It is NOT a passing lane. However I personally would be doing at least 65MPH. I have passed radar equipped police at 70MPH on many occasions and never had a problem. Thank you to all the crazies out there doing >= 75MPH for the cover!
