Does anyone know an effective way to report someone not charging sales tax besides online or phone? I gave the persons social security # address. Dob. Etc very detailed.
It is a seasonal one month holiday business and he only takes cash, gives no receipts. If any ny representative went there just to see what was going on I'm sure they would do something.
I reported him last year too but nothing happened. Very frustrating as to you know its the law, you hear on news people getting in trouble yet in this case this man keeps doing what hes doing.
He also is on full disability and for the month he works long hours and does labor. I also reported him to disability fraud but nothing as of last year.
Thank you
PLEASE, this will cost us more than this unfortunate person is. You will start an inquiry which will create a
tsunami of paperwork, that will be handed off to ten different departments to investigate at a cost of thousands of dollars to the taxpayer. Have a nice Christmas (if that is your holiday) and New Year and hope he does the same.
Go to a newsstand/library/Barnes and Noble...any place with a lot of magazines. Take a subscription insert from every magazine. Fill out his name and address and check the box that says "bill me later". Drop them in a mailbox.
Yeah I have to agree. It seems pretty low class to report someone who apparently is just trying to make a few extra holiday dollars. What goes around comes around.
OP, you are looking at this the wrong way. Reporting him would make you feel a little better for a short time with no real benefit to you.
He obviously runs this sideline because it's profitable. What can you learn from him about beginning a profitable side business? Valuable info is worth a lot more than petty revenge.
What I'm curious about is what kind of business generates $30K in a single month (as per a post that I see was deleted since yesterday) according to the OP. At first I assumed "holiday lights" but do that many homeowners really pay that kind of money for someone to do that kind of thing every year?
Though I suppose if 30 suckers, err, customers are willing and able to pay $1000 for that, there ya go. But certainly not in any neighborhood I've ever lived in, LOL
