Hello, I’m new here and somewhat new to Long Island(been to a few places here and there). I just got a job at St Francis Hospital at Roslyn, and I was wondering where would be a good location to look for an apartment or a house if I’m lucky? I’m staying with relatives at New Hyde Park, which isn’t that far from the hospital. I prefer to be a bit closer to work but ultimately I have to consider other factors, namely the safety of the neighborhood, traffic, parking and most importantly prices.

I’m setting my budget at 2,500 max. Distance wise, if it were a 20-25 minute drive factoring in traffic then I can live with that. Parking, I have a car but might get a second one depending on the fiancé’s work. What areas would you suggest looking at? Thanks in advance!

Don't know how many bedrooms you're looking for, but if you can live with two, you should be able to find a rental in Mineola with your budget.

Right, so I didn’t mention the people that’s gonna be there. My bad, and thank you for brining it up. It’s just me and the fiancé. We’re looking for a 2 bedroom, but realistically I’m expecting to get a 1 bedroom just because most of the places I looked at are 1 bedroom at around that price. Also, I really hope it keep it under 2k; since I’m still starting out.
