In the past it has been discussed by government officials to make Long Island a state.Would you personally be for or against this and why?

If it would lower taxes so that I could stay here, I'd be for it. But by the time it happens, I'll probably be gone already - taxed off the island.

I think that is the whole idea......since NY has to divey up state funds etc, long island doesnt get its fare share and by separating itself Long Island would gain to receive more funds and be taxed differently.....I don't really remember all the particulars, but it was on ch 12 or one of those shows and was really interesting....

Forgot to answer the ?......lol

It all really depends on what the specifics are.....and to what extent will it benefit everyone...
If it would help the regular middle classed family be able to live a normal/comfortable life here and not be in financial debt than I would say go for it.....
