Mill Pond House - GREAT RESTAURANTS OF LONG ISLAND (http://www.greatrestaurantsmag.com/LI/restaurant_view/111/ - broken link)
since you're running the gambit in types of food and such,
Three options:
Stevens in Long Beach. Pasta and such - Decent food and good prices, no entertainment. Plus is there is a crepe place just down the block for desert.
Sage Bistro in Bellmore - French Bistro place. Very good food, I've had great duck, rack of lamb etc. I love the little french bread loaves they give you.
Nicholis James in Merrick - Very good new american Bistro. I've had good luck with their variety of specials. Nice tender huge veal chop, and various pasta dishes.
No entertainment at any of them, but my favorites in my area of the island. none are particularly overly pricey or extravagant, but good food and atmosphere.
Antoinette's in Bellmore is great for Italian food. On the weekends, they usually have a singer. My husband and I love to go there for Valentine's day or our anniversary.
Nothing beats Jimmy Hayes in Island Park!!!! AWESOME!
