This Lane serves no purpose and is sometimes slower than the regular Lanes. They need to do something about this as I frequently see violators in it. People are fleeing Long Island because of how expensive it is and I also think traffic is part of it. I'm sure if enough of us demand change something will happen.

I can't speak for actual rush-hour usage, but I also see frequent violators going in and out. Next to lane-changers who don't signal, those guys are the most annoyingly entitled people on the road. An extra lane to use at all times would be great, but again, I don't know how it goes during effective hours. We already use the extra lane during non-peak hours and there's still traffic.

i think they need better enforcement. maybe something like the toll license plate.scanner but something also takes pic of occupants...i know thats prob not legal and would never fly and I understand but im just making a point that they need to have a better system than the police which seem not to deter people.

Hard to do, especially with tinted windows and include a baby in a car seat that is in a higher SUV and not entirely visible.

They should have just made it a 4th lane.

LOL, drivers would go back to placing inflatable "dollies" wearing clothing in the back seat, like they used to.

The problem is when it they started letting “clean air pass” cars in the HOV lane there were only a hand full of cars that qualified. Now every auto maker has a car that qualifies for the clean air pass and everyone and their mothers has one. So it’s bascially back to square one.

Neee to go back to min occupants.
