Did anyone go to the airshow yesterday or today? Wondering how it was. I took the kids today but unfortunately I don't know if it ever got underway. Fog rolled in and lasted for hours. We left about 1, 30 minutes after the fog lifted and no planes. Would love to have seen it yesterday.

I read that the thunderbirds are leaving tomorrow morning. Considering taking the kids again but not sure if it's worth it to just watch them fly off.

Nah, from what I hear it is insanely crowded and they search everyone's belongings. Not my idea of fun.

Saw them from the Nautical mile in Freeport. Not as close a view as being at Jones Beach, but still had fun.

I was there on Friday when they were rehearsing, saw the F/A 18 and the P-51s. The Super Hornet is nuts, it buzzed the beach like 30 times...and no matter how many times you hear that boom you never get used to it.

I've probably worked 15 airshows and this was by far the best. I got to work in the NYSEMO truck...great stuff.

No searches as far as I could tell either. The biggest problem was the draw bridge on the Wantagh got stuck a few times.

The fog was a beast to forecast on Sunday.

Did they perform Sat. and Sunday, or just Sat? We were going to go on Sunday, but decided getting stuck in the parking lot when the forcasted thunder storms rolled in around 1 pm was not going to be any fun. So we passed going on Sunday. Did they fly on Sunday?

I only say that about the searching because thats what they did in the past, from what I was told. Even after the airshow, when I went the weekend after the signs were still up. Maybe because King George is gone they are laying off the draconian privacy invasion stuff...
