You definitely need to be aware that the majority of places that have a "Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address are NOT in the Village of Farmingdale, and may not even be in Nassau County.

For those who may not be familiar with Farmingdale:

Farmingdale is a village (incorporated in 1904) in the southeast part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the east part of Nassau County along the Oyster Bay/Babylon town line and the Nassau/Suffolk County line.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Farmingdale in the Town of Oyster Bay is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Old Bethpage; on the east by the Hamlet of East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon, Suffolk County (the Oyster Bay/Babylon town line and the Nassau/Suffolk county line); on the south by the Hamlet of South Farmingdale; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Plainedge and the Hamlet of Bethpage.

Farmingdale is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where the majority of the places with the community name as part of their mailing address are not in the village: places that have a "Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address that are not in the Village of Farmingdale are in the Hamlet of South Farmingdale and the Hamlet of Plainedge, as well as in the Hamlet of Old Bethpage in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County and in the Hamlet of East Farmingdale and the Hamlet of Wyandanch in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): Excellent Long Island Geographic Resource

Perhaps youre confusing it with Farmingville?

Farmingdale seems like a great little town.

Dalers seem pretty happy from what I can gather.
I really like the Village.

Default For those who may not be familiar with Farmingville

You need to be aware that there's an area in the Hamlet of Farmingville where illegal-alien day-laborers congregate. Crooks should be able to provide the specific area.

For those who may not be familiar with Farmingville:

Farmingville is a hamlet (an unincorporated community) in the center part of the Town of Brookhaven, in the center part of Suffolk County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of Farmingville in the Town of Brookhaven is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Centereach, the Hamlet of Selden and the Hamlet of Coram; on the east by the Hamlet of Coram and the Hamlet of Medford; on the south by the Hamlet of Medford and the Hamlet of Holtsville; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Centereach.

The Hamlet of Farmingville has a different border than does the "Farmingville, NY 11738" ZIP Code postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Farmingville, NY 11738" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of Farmingville and a place can have other than a "Farmingville, NY 11738" mailing address and be in the Hamlet of Farmingville): places that have a "Farmingville, NY 11738" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Farmingville are in the Hamlet of Centereach, the Hamlet of Selden and the Hamlet of Holtsville; and, at the same time, there are places in the Hamlet of Farmingville with a "Centereach, NY 11720" and "Holtsville, NY 11742" mailing address.

Which town, theyre both pretty close to an airport?

If you are looking at Farmingville

Stay away from Portion rd. The areas up by Bald Hill are nice.

If it's Republic Airport, then you're in East Farmingdale ("Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address).

For those who may not be familiar with East Farmingdale:

East Farmingdale is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the northwest part of the Town of Babylon, in the southwest part of Suffolk County, in the right angle formed by the Babylon/Huntington/Oyster Bay town line along the Suffolk/Nassau county line).

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of East Farmingdale in the Town of Babylon is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Melville in the Town of Huntington (the Babylon/Huntington town line); on the east by the Hamlet of Wyandanch and the Hamlet of West Babylon; on the south by the Hamlet of North Lindenhurst and the Hamlet of North Amityville; and, on the west by the Hamlet of South Farmingdale, the Village of Farmingdale and the Hamlet of Old Bethpage in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County (the Babylon/Oyster Bay town line and the Suffolk/Nassau county line).

East Farmingdale is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of East Farmingdale have a "Farmingdale, NY 11735" and "West Babylon, NY 11704" mailing address.

There's a tiny airport in Farmingdale, but it should not bother you at all. The village itself is not really that close to it and is a nice little village.
