Or does everyone that lives there commute to NYC? I would love to move to Long Island as it seems to be more affordable than nyc, but is it realistic to have to commute to nyc daily to work? Any insight would be great as I am completely relying on this forum for all info...thanks
Since my job will be in NYC, is it possible to have a commute of around 35 minutes or so outside of NYC, and pay around 1400 for a 2br in a safe area? If this is realistic, what area would anyone suggest? Thanks!!
Sean is right..There are a lot of crummy jobs in Hauppauge, Islandia, Holtsville, and other 'manufacturing centers.' You work the same hours as about 10 million people (exaggerating but you know what I mean) and it takes you 45 minutes to drive a few miles thanks to the few North South routes.
You guys ever try to escape from Hauppauge to the South Shore via Washington Ave through Brentwood...just get ready to camp out...
