which train should i take to go to penn station? anyone knows times of the train for both and where do i get the ticket? need to catch a very early train, like 6 am or something like it if it exists.
thanks
According to the MTA's website, there is either a 6:04 out of Patchogue that takes 1:36 to get to Penn (with a transfer at Jamaica), or a 5:37 (or 6:40) out of Ronkonkoma that takes 1:22.
That's actually less difference than I thought there would be. Despite the "hassle" of having to switch trains, if you're much closer to the Patchogue LIRR station you'll easily lose those 14 minutes in driving to/parking at Ronkonkoma.
thank you for the information. which of two has better parking? i have never done this and have to be in the city by a certain hour so i want to make sure all goes smoothly and i don't get lost trying to find parking. thanks again

I'm not sure about Patchogue, but Ronkonkoma has plenty of free parking, especially if you are going in early.
