I was thinking college resumes. I understand that there is a bad element in every single school ; it is really how one deals with it.

It is also up to the parents to make sure that the children are being brought up without the distractions.

Could anyone provide any information on the differences between St. Anthony's and St. John the Baptist (West Islip)?

Not for nothing, but when one enters into parochial school, isnt it a given that there is uniforms? I do understand that there is also sweep downs done looking for drugs in all the parochial schools so if you are kicked out for using pot, no sympathy there.

St. Anthony's open house was last weekend. St. Johns is in October.

I'll put it this way: many of the kids who are asked to leave St. Anthony's end up at SJB.

you missed the part where I said "most" of the bad element. And nobody said Catholic school kids are saints. Nice rant though...lol.

again, if you child is a top student, it likely won't matter. And it's not going to get a B student into one of the Ivy's. But having St. Anthony's or Chaminade or something similar on your application can definitley help certain students when it comes to getting into the college of their choice.

It may be easier to just write the check out to the University of choice as a donation, rather than sending it to the private high school. Chance of getting accepted may be better!

Private schools do not require that their teachers be certified. I'm not sure if they require a masters degree for their teachers either.
