Yeah, but they're coming from Selden and don't want more than a 25 minute ride--so Bethpage would probably be the closest one.

Default Free Turkey?

Hi all, I don't think I ever posted on Long Island. My name is Jeannine - call me J9, it's easier.
I tend to check out the Massachusetts forums since that is where I want to live (crossing my fingers- wish me luck).

I live on the North Shore of LI. I like it but it's expensive living on Long Island. I am originally from Upstate NY. I am used to lower taxes and less traffic.

The other day I shopped at Walbaum's (not my favorite grocery store). I noticed on the bottom of my receipt that there was a date range for points for a free Thanksgiving Turkey. I was angry that I have not inspected these receipts weeks ago, I would have accumulated more points. Has anyone else heard of this?

I happen to LOVE Fairway. It is a bit of a hike from my house, but I love the special sections- ie: coffee has an entire row of fresh barrel coffee (whole beans). The workers pick out your flavor/kind of coffee and grind it to your liking. I am addicted to the Sumatra blend. I also like the delicious selection of meats.

I plan to shop there this Thanksgiving. I just have to plan it better. It seems like the place is ALWAYS crowded.

Grrrr......

The food isn't like what it used to be, but it's a very homey restaurant with good food.

Here's their website- Welcome to the Milleridge Inn
good food, but that isn't even remotely close to selden
