RVC has always had a reputation of being a great little downtown. I have to say I wasn't all that impressed when I first when there. It's nice, but it was a bit tired and stale. It was kind of tacky and some parts looked a bit run down.

I personally think Bayside (although not techically LI..it's close enough), Huntington Village, Babylon Village, and GC are a bit nicer.

Parking is a piece of cake there compare with other "bar" areas...ever try to get a parking spot in Long Beach or Nautical Mile on a Friday or Saturday night? At least in RVC, you can park at the train station and walk. There are always spots, just gotta pay the meter.
