Why does any of this even matter? Is this some sort salve to put on the wounds caused by excessive and suffocating taxes?
Oh my God it matters significantly! Millions of folks are going to start uprooting their families based on this data! And now Long Islanders can all exhale and go on paying the tax man!
Or maybe it's just one of many school rankings that get published EVERY year, inspire random debate, and ultimately have zero impact on anyone's life in any meaningful way.

I believe those schools refused to participate in the rankings

Interesting part is Garden City, Manhasset and Rockville Centre are not on the list.
Cold Spring Harbor, Harborfields, Locust Valley, etc. are also missing - frequently schools do not participate for one reason or another.
According to this list, Sayville is number 9 on Long Island, who knew??!!!
(Various lists have various levels of nonsense, judge for yourself.)
Now let's rank teacher salaries of the top 1000 and see if we're actually getting the proverbial bang for the buck. My friend the 4th grade teacher in Jericho makes $155k for 10 mos with benefits to make a Congressman jealous. Thank goodness they are #27 in the land. Uh oh, there I go, attacking the profession again. D'oh!
