I have this one shady cat on my block who is always having random cars drop by for short intervals of time. Sometimes the same ones come back a week or two later. It can all be innocent stuff, but I was curious to hear from you guys on other things to look for to figure out if there's a dealer on your block.
If the drugs are good blackmail him for some , get high and watch Spongebob , everyone wins.
No matter what you learn about this house and the possible drug dealing, do not expect the Suffolk police to do anything about. They will ignore you. Often, no one is in their offices (narcotics). In the summertime, the entire 2nd precinct narcotics goes on vacation. They talk rudely to you. They don't listen to what you say (tell them to send an unmarked car, because you just walked past the drug deal and you know they say you, and they send a patrol car that stops and shines a light on their house).
Sgt Teehan and his cast of over-paid and under-performing characters should all be fired for gross incompetence.

For the most part you tend to be a rather level headed fellow around here. Did you ever think of going to your county legislator if you really think that cops have been this apathetic about your situation? You're really finding hypodermics in your neighborhood and they blow you off when you call? Somethings not adding up here. I think that SCPD is way overpaid to, but I've never had an issue with them responding to a call, even about minor stuff like loud parties.

If it's in your budget, get a video camera on the house, or wherever you suspect transactions are taking place. Make sure you capture the video using AVI and not JPG (since there have been problems getting moving JPEG images to stand up in court). If you can, place the camera away from your house, so they can't figure out who shot the video, or from where. If you see transactions taking place repeatedly in the video, write down the times, and ship the video and times off to the police for their review. If your local precinct isn't trustworthy, try giving it to the media.
