By my wifes request I would like an honest opinion. What is the best italian food in this general area (try to keep it around here and not further away). Base it on food quality, and prices that wont break the bank. Thanks!

Caruso's on Broadway in Rocky Point is very good. Looks like a pizzeria, which it is, but the dining room is restaurant quality. Good service, good food. Prices...not cheap but they wont break the bank.

Another good place for Italian is Carnival. That's probably closer to Port Jeff. It's in the shopping center with Home Goods. Place is casual but very good. The dining area is in the back of the pizzeria and is quite large. Not a romantic place by any means but very nice inside. Good family type place with good food.

Great pick too

Awesome Calamari

Still slightly partial to Carusos for the Francese.

I believe that's considered Port Jefferson Station.

On Nesconset Hwy is PJS.North of the tracks becomes Port Jefferson. Carnival is good though, but their heroes last week weren't as good as usual.
