Hi Folks,
I'm living in ROMA and I'm a big fan of Michelangelo Antonioni.
Lately I'm researching about Zabriskie Point the movie.
I did find a lot of locations in LA and in the Desert.
There are some places left I couldn't find In Los Angeles.
May some of you tell me the best way and the best place here to have a help?

I am not sure exactly what you are asking for.....1) are you asking for the best website from which to map Los Angeles (google maps, etc); of 2) are you asking for locations where the movie was filmed??

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zabriskie_Point_(film)

Wikipedia says the film was filmed in Downtown LA, the desert near Death Valley, and Phoenix, AZ among ohter places.

Well, what I ask in my first post is how and where in the City-Data.com site I can have a help to find where the movie was filmed.
I need some people of my age or older knowing well the town to recognize some places.
Something like: _OK man, this place is the right place to post that.
Just add some picture and we'll check the place where they were shot in LA_
or : _No, better you post your request and your pics in another section of the site.._

I'm really DEEP in this search.
I did find incredible locations with the net and google street.
There are some places left to find.
Shall I upload some pictures here or in another place to find my missing last locations?
I tell you, IMO those missing locations are REALLY hard to find!

Think that there was a big error in that site and I sent to the owner the right details to make a good correction
It's a good page but I have many MANY more Zabriskie Point' locations than that!

You could create a thread here in the LA forum and post some of your pictures and ask people to help you identify where those shots were taken.

I know you can see the Atlantic Richfield Building from the office in ZP (was it Rip Torn's office..?). Sadly, the ARCO Towers replaced that magnificent building. Not much help, but interesting to Angelenos.

Yes, it was a magnificent building expecially in this Antonioni's cut.
It was from the Lee Allen's (Rod Taylor) office. Here is a pic from the DVD.

I'd love to take a shot at it if you want to post some stills or screenshots from the movie somewhere. Other than that, I can't help you because I haven't seen the film yet. One thing you should know about L.A. is that, as nickdahammer's post reminds us, a lot of architectural history has been lost. This happened particularly in the middle of the last century, as numerous old buildings were torn down, first for parking lots, and then later as a part of misguided redevelopment schemes. Fortunately the pace of this wanton pillage has slowed very significantly in recent decades.

Just visit this more specific thread on ZP locations in LA: http://www.city-data.com/forum/los-a...re-please.html

Lot of pics from the movie and a lot of location' finds.
So many finds that only 2 little places remain unknown.
