All the way from SM to Downtown? What do you think? Ive never done it but Id like to

Its over 14 miles and would take around 5 hours, but I think it would be a ton of fun. One of the city's most interesting streets and youd go through so many different neighborhoods.

I think itd be fun, would anyone else do it? Also, what other long streets do you think could be fun to walk the whole thing?

William "D-Fens" Foster did it on even less appealing roads almost two decades ago. You could too.

it's been done before, in fact a local blog filmed the whole thing
YouTube - Great Wilshire Walk - Downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica. i think watching this video is much easier than doing the walk yourself. this same group also walked western from griffith park all the way to san pedro.

That was cool, thanks for posting it! I loved seeing all the places and buildings I remember from growing up in L.A.

Last time I was in LA, I walked from the Staples Center to Wilshire & Western. Walked up Figueroa Street to Wilshire and went straight to Western Av. I was thinking about going all the way to La Cienega but 1) I didn't have the time; 2) the subway doesn't go that far (yet. *wink*wink*).

Some streets weren't particularly fun to cross (Olympic and Vermont come to mind) but it was nice little trek.

I like the Sunset alternate route as well. Split north at BH then hug the hills all the way to Silver Lake.

I think it's a great idea. Sunset would be good too. Did you ever see the PBS series on "Great Streets". Randy Newman did Sunset. Have fun!

That is outstanding.

Anyone know how many Washingtonia there are along the entire route?

LOL!
