Hi folks,
Here is one of the places I'm looking for in Los Angeles.
I really hope some of you can recognize where it is.
This picture comes from the Zabriskie Point DVD (a movie)
(in the movie that old house in the left was the Protagonist's house)
Consider that the film was shot in 1968 - 1969.
There are some good details:
Old houses, no rich area, all black people around and overall the church.

I started this thread as well:

Thanks

It's hard to tell from that one picture. I was looking to see if there were any street signs. No luck.

It looks like it MIGHT be the West Adams area which is near USC and had a large African-American populaition circa 1968.

It could be in the Pico-Union district.

I always did have a thing for southern girls! LOL.

Yeah, to the OP, it's very tough to say for sure. I'd say if you have any photos with street names we are going to be more help to you. Unless it's a historic landmark in which case you'll probably not need our help.

Could it be a set? It looks pretty complex ... but its worth considering.

I checked all the church along West Adams Boulevard and Jefferson. Some also in Pico area with Google street and I didn't see steeples like that of the pic.
Of course I have not a pic with the street name!
It's surely NOT a set.
Thanks folks, let's try somewhere else...yeah, but where?

Well....one thing to note that is circa the late 1960's the Ciyt of LA was VERY prone to knocking down buildings, including very historic ones. One need only look at Bunker Hill in Downtown which went under the wrecking ball about that time.

That said, THERE ARE other streets in West Adams with churches....Figueroa between say Adams and 37th. But we are really looking for a needle in a haystack.....not easy.

Yes, right! I thought to that. In America things goes different than here in Europa.
In fact of all the churches I checked, nearly hundred, none had a steeple like that in the picture and mostly looked rather young.

I ask something. Does somebody know a website with LA' old houses?

West Adams as a road is really long.
What exacly means "the West Adams" area?
Same...What exacly means "the Pico-Union" area?

I add another pic from the DVD. Probably shot in the same area.
We can see there a really nice house outside the window
In the black/white pic we can see the outside of the house which is different from the first pic of the thread.
Antonioni liked that "outside" more .
In these pics we can see big palm trees.
