First I want to say THIS IS NOT A RACIST POST...but is something i noticed. I work at a hotel and we get a lot of interns, and even mexicans who have just come from mexico. I have spent a lot of time in los angeles/so cal...and know that mayate is used as a derogatory term for blacks. However not one of these mexican interns or mexicans know that and just think of it as a deragotory term for homosexuals(like it originally was)

The Mexis I've known down through the years use maricón for (male) homosexual and mayate as their "n" word. I've never encountered the dual-usage.

That's why there is no racism
against "Mexicans"; I meant the OP's clarification that he was not making a "racist" post. "Racism against Mexicans" is a misnomer for racism that primarily directs itself against people with Indian phenotypic features with anti-Hispanic and anti-Mexican terminology.
