What would the average commute time be between a home in Agoura Hills and an office in Hollywood (near Cahuenga and Sunset)

Office hours would vary from as early as 9am-5pm and as late as 11am-7pm. Monday-Friday.

My recent research (sigalert, google maps, others) predicts 60-90 minutes each way with 60 minutes not uncommon if I leave at 10am. But one former LA resident I talked to said it would easily be +90min every single day. I have some specific questions related to sigalert in another thread.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hard to say. The 101 seems to be the most heavily trafficked in LA. 405 is worse during rush hour though. A lot of people drive east on the 101 from your area to Woodland Hills, then you hit the 101/405 merge (disaster), then 101 to Hollywood. But you also get backed up because the number of people going to Burbank or downtown past Hollywood.

I would say during rush hour 60-90 and back. With your modified later start and end, probably 45-60 though sometimes at 7pm, the 101 is backed up from the 405 to Woodland Hills going west.

90+ minutes is possible, but i don't foresee that happening regularly. less than 60 minutes is highly unlikely though except for rare occasions like jewish holidays.

Don't you take a lunch break? If so,m how do you get in 40 hours?

There maybe a public transportation option with the orange line. Check LA Metro Home. Also, look into carpooling though there is no carpool lane west of the 405.

Check www.sigalert.com during your expected commute times.

I used to drive to work in Studio City from Westlake Village everyday. I left before traffic
and could make it in 30-40 minutes. I think an hour and fifteen might do it.
