My sister thinks this area is terminally desolate. I think it's extraordinarily beautiful, with the huge vistas and far horizons, and so much detail on the ground in the desert, always something new to see. I think we're from different planets.

Anyone else wondering WTF is with all the humidity lately? This week I was fairly sure I'd taken a wrong turn and wound up in Minnesoooota! Not used to this sweating thing, usually the air dries it faster than you can produce it.

Lancaster just got rocked by a bill for $5.7million dollars from the Governor demanding redevelopment money back.

What's that about? (I live in a cave and hadn't heard.) Isn't that just about what they spent "redeveloping" Lancaster Blvd?? [Which the way I heard it was mostly done to enhance certain persons' property values, not to mention enrich their contractor friends.]

Read it on my local Patch.

Lancaster stood out because that's the only AV city on Sen. Huff's list.

Thanks... eeep, where do they supposed these cities are going to get that money??

I'm guessing we can look forward to another "special assessment" added to our property taxes.
