Bay Area, do you remember "Dr. Leon" on The Mighty Met at noon? I don't know how they ever got away with that.

Same for me, I cannot even remember the last time I actually listened to any radio in the car or at home. I have been listening to my CDs when driving or at home and MP3 player when I am riding. Main reason for this is I have plenty to choose from and get to listen what I want when I want.
Also, I seriously doubt any of them would be playing on a US radio station.

Frazer Smith was great. KLOS even had these "Too Hip" cards you could write in for (free). Supposedly, they were good for discounts at certain places, but I never used it. He had some great bits, my favorite was this European-style lothario called "LE!!!!! Continental" Also back in 1981 (when I first started listening to KLOS), then-Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi was in the news for some reason, and Frazer would call him "Mr. Kadafy-Maker" (a take off on Mr. Coffee Maker), or "Kadafy Duck" (complete with Daffy Duck speech impediment voice) Hysterical!!

I stopped listening to KLOS in 1982, b/c it was boring me (aside from Frazer), but eventually he ended up at KMET. Around the summer of 1984, he was on every Saturday night "Fraze after dark!" I went back to KLOS in 1985, and then onto KNAC when they started the Pure Rock format in early 1986, so I lost touch with him after that.

Yeah, I heard that also KNAC had some pretty good female DJs, besides Tawn, there was Lady Di, Forbidden Phyliss, Animal Analee (sp?), and maybe one more I've forgotten. There was one of those bikini magazines that came out back then and all the KNAC ladies posed. Tawn looked great in a sexy one-piece! I may (or not) have saved the pics from that magazine, but who knows where the hell they are after 20+ years and several moves (including one cross-country to So. Florida!)

I got to listen to her both in NorCal (KSJO) and SoCal (KNAC).
